Working at the farm
Did you know that an acre of growing Christmas Trees can produce enough oxygen for 18 people a day? Breathe in the fresh air when you visit the farm and appreciate the important role your choice to pick a real Christmas Tree plays in tackling climate change. At Killakee Christmas Tree Farm we replant at least 2 trees for every tree we cut down each year. Please recycle your Christmas Tree after the festive season. Our aim at Killakee Christmas Tree Farm is to tread lightly on our patch of this earth. Sustainability is at the heart of everything we do. We started planting Christmas Trees to put our land to good use for the local environment. Every acre of growing Christmas Trees can produce enough oxygen for 18 people a day. Christmas trees absorb harmful CO2, removing and storing the carbon while releasing the oxygen back into the air. As we replant at least 2 trees for every tree we cut down our farm we are developing a sustainable business for future generations. We always choose a compostable option in anything we use at the farm from the Tags to our coffee cups. We reuse any available timber around the farm for example in seating, signage and stands.
